Two front ports on computer USB 3.0 hooked to motherboard 3.0 header.If splitter installed on motherboard header and front usb ports connected to splitter as well as a card reader to the splitters other connection - will everything connected work normally

Note this is a simple splitter and not a USB hub. You can't split USB data signals on a cable.

I bought one and tried it and you can only run two usb3 ports in total off of one header on the motherboard. In other words one usb3 port on one connector of the y cable and one usb3 port on the other. Or two on one side and none on the other, which defeats the purpose. :) I had two devices with two ports on each one and it wouldn't work.
